![]() What is natural rearing?
Natural rearing is just that... raising our animals naturally. We feed them a raw, biologically appropriate diet and use no chemicals on our animals. And that means no vaccines. Radical? Not really. They don't tell you to vaccinate your human kids and yourself yearly, do they? I don't know why people would think that's ok for animals. And if you look into it you will find that the vaccine industry is a HUGE money maker. Not vaccinating goes hand in hand with feeding a RAW, species appropriate diet, and here's why. A body (animal/human) was meant to be a self sustaining machine. But like any other machine it cannot run at peak performance without the fuel it was MADE to run on. A dog is biologically the SAME as a wolf. Yes, the outside looks different, but the wolf still lives within - all the nutritional requirement are the same. People will tell you that we have domesticated the dog and changed him from what he used to be, but look at what even the ancestors of the common dog ate. Whatever it's family had extra, what it could kill, and what it could scavenge. The same as it's wild predecessors. It was only in the last 60 years the kibble became "the norm", which appeals to our fast paced lives in it's seemingly one step nutrition. Kibble contains grains, preservatives, and God knows what else.
Dogs CANNOT digest grains and they are not a natural food source for them. But since the life-force is strong and bodies are resilient they can withstand the rigors of poor diet, but will never flourish on one. Diet is the building blocks upon which bodies are built. So, say you are feeding an appropriate raw diet and the body is strong and healthy..... A body was never meant to receive immunity to any disease/sickness via direct injection. The body has defense mechanisms - the nose, mouth, mucous membranes - to help filter out toxins and provide a shield between the outside world and the inside of the body. Direct injections bypass those safeguards and are allowed to act upon, and directly damage, the immune system. Results of vaccine reactions, called vaccinosis, include but are not limited to injection site tumors, cancer, allergies, convulsive seizures, separation anxiety, nervousness, leukemia, encephalitis, heart conditions, kidney damage, liver damage/failure, paralysis of the rear end, pancreas problems, chronic disease, and the list goes on. It all stems from a damaged immune system. And this isn't even considering what the cocktail of other chemicals and ingredients (including mercury, thermerisol, formaldehyde, proteins and genetic material from cattle, monkeys, chickens, viruses, bacteria, foreign RNA and DNA) in the vaccines do! So what do people do instead of vaccinate? Well, we start with a species appropriate diet, then we live life. We booster the immune system with herbs and supplements when/if necessary and we deal with any problem when it happens. Not before. For this reason we don't use preventative heartworm medication either. Why run low grade doses of poison through your dog "just in case" it gets bitten by an infected mosquito?
Our animals receive their immunities through natural means. Contacts in their environment - ground and air exposure as well as the bits of virus' that we, their owners, bring home with us in our travels. There are also nosodes, but we personally have not used them. Did you know that (with the exception of rabies in most states) animal vaccines are NOT mandatory? That's right! You only need show proof of rabies given by a vet. That's it. We don't use conventional medicine (i.e. antibiotics, steroids, etc) since those are suppressive and only push the disease/problem further into the body. Instead we use homeopathic remedies to help redirect the bodies healing energies. Even if you don't use homeopathy you can still be vaccine free, but you may find after a while, that all that "natural stuff" really has something to it! Just remember, most vets get their nutritional education sponsored by the dog food industry (look at what they sell and promote in their offices - talk about a vested interest!). They also make a LOT of money on annual vaccinations. Quite a few of them have admitted that they worry their clients won't come in for regular exams if they told them they didn't NEED the vaccines. You need to look at the motive behind the actions and decide where the best interest of your animals lie.
